DHAKA, Bangladesh – ICDL is pleased to announce that Sher Khan Foundation has joined our global community as the latest Accredited Test Centre (ATC) in the South Asian country. Through this collaboration, the internationally recognised ICDL digital skills certification will be integrated into academic programmes at the Foundation’s flagship Madina Welfare Project (MWP). This will ensure that children at the project’s orphanage and school are empowered with essential digital literacy, thus nurturing their employability for a brighter future.
The anticipated rollout of 6 ICDL CORE modules (Computer & Online Essentials, Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentation, Cyber Security, and Teamwork) alongside the national curriculum will also enhance learners’ competence and productivity throughout their education journey. “We want our children to graduate from our orphanage and school equipped with the knowledge and skills to be the best they can be and achieve greater heights in life,” said Mohammad Islam, MWP Project Lead.
ICDL believes that access to technology and developing digital skills significantly improves lives, and that no one should be left behind. We are proud to join forces with Sher Khan Foundation in upskilling the younger generations of Bangladesh towards becoming global citizens in today’s digital transformation era. We look forward to supporting further initiatives that help develop positive change and lifelong opportunity.
About Sher Khan Foundation

Sher Khan Foundation is a UK-registered charity. Its guiding principles help provide life-changing support to communities and individuals in Bangladesh who need it most, through food packs, shelter, medical aid, water wells, education, and much more.
One of its key initiatives is the Madina Welfare Project (MWP), which has been in the making for over 20 years. With the co-founders themselves having been orphaned at a young age, the project was set up from the loving intention of caring for the poor. The MWP includes providing free education to children, providing safety and security for orphans, and to support the less fortunate who find themselves in challenging life circumstances.
The project’s Al-Madina Complex in Dhaka currently comprises an orphanage which is home to 60 children, as well as two independent institutes – a primary school and a secondary school – with 300 learners, serving as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for breaking the cycle of poverty.
