Strengthening Digital Education through Collaboration

The Ministry of Education’s recognition of the ICDL Asia Digital Challenge under the PAJSK framework marks a significant milestone for digital education in Malaysia. This acknowledgement reflects the Ministry’s strong support for credible, skills-based programmes that empower students to apply technology meaningfully in their learning journeys.

Danawa Education played a key role in facilitating this recognition through its ongoing collaboration with ICDL Asia and the Ministry of Education, ensuring that students’ achievements are formally acknowledged as part of their co-curricular development.

“A key part of our effort is advancing quality and credibility in digital education,” said Ms. Tan Yii Ying, CEO of Danawa Education. “This recognition affirms the Ministry’s confidence in the quality of our programmes and reinforces our shared commitment to preparing students for a digital future.”

Delivering the ICDL Asia Digital Challenge required close coordination among schools, teachers, and students within tight timelines, while ensuring minimal disruption to lessons and examinations.

“Our team worked closely with educators to keep everyone informed, meet strict deadlines, and provide timely support at every stage,” Ms. Tan added.

Looking ahead, Danawa Education aims to broaden awareness of the competition, particularly among public schools, to encourage wider participation and access to opportunities, including pathways to international competitions.

Empowering Learners through Digital Challenge

Students who took part in the 2024 Digital Challenge, as well as their parents and teachers, shared how the experience has strengthened confidence, creativity, and future readiness:

“The ICDL Asia Digital Challenge pushes students beyond the classroom, building confidence and global-standard digital skills,” said Mr. Muhammad Afiq Asri bin Seroji, a teacher at Yayasan Sarawak International Secondary School. “It inspires learners to explore technology, think critically, and grow into future-ready individuals.”

“As parents, we recognise the importance of digital literacy for our children’s future,” shared Mdm Theodora Chiew, parent of a Gold Award winner. “The Challenge helped my son build problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity – skills that boosted his confidence both in school and beyond.”
