ICDL Asia Partners with PERSOL BUSINESS PROCESS DESIGN CO., LTD. to Enhance Digital Skills of University Students

SAITAMA, Japan- ICDL Asia is pleased to announce that one of our partners in Japan, PERSOL BUSINESS PROCESS DESIGN CO., LTD. has entered into a partnership with Saitama University Co-op to implement ICDL modules. Students are able to take internationally recognised ICDL modules through the Saitama University Co-op store to enhance their digital literacy skills.

Before the partnership launched, PERSOL BUSINESS PROCESS DESIGN CO., LTD jointly organised a student-led workshop with Saitama University Co-op. from December 2024 to March 2025. Students who attended this workshop explored the question: What kind of certification would university students want to take? Students got to experience ICDL modules and discussed promotional taglines and expansion strategies in groups. One tagline created by the students is now used in promotional materials at the Saitama University Co-op store.

A survey of workshop participants reveals that 75% of them felt that their digital skills and knowledge improved through learning and being tested for their chosen ICDL module. Particularly, they valued the opportunity to learn about subjects not usually covered in their regular coursework, and the direct impact this had on their digital skills development.

This initiative with Saitama University Co-op will now serve as a model for nationwide expansion. Building on the knowledge and expertise gained, PERSOL BUSINESS PROCESS DESIGN CO., LTD. plans to gradually implement this model to other university co-ops in Japan.

ICDL believes that essential digital skills are key to fostering innovation and equipping students with digital competencies to thrive in a digitally connected world. We are proud to partner with PERSOL BUSINESS PROCESS DESIGN CO., LTD to hone digital skills and enhance global competitiveness of students in Japan.
