ICDL Asia is proud to introduce the first ICDL Asia Robotics Championship 2026, a regional STEM competition established to advance robotics education and strengthen STEM competencies across the Asia-Pacific region.
In an increasingly technology-driven world, robotics has become a critical component of modern education. Through this championship, ICDL Asia reinforces its commitment to developing future-ready learners by integrating coding, engineering, computational thinking, and problem-solving into a hands-on competitive platform that connects theory with real-world application.
Open to Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary Students
Students at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels are invited to take part in this dynamic international event.
Each team must consist of 2 to 4 students, working together to design, build, and program a robot to solve a defined challenge. Schools may submit up to four teams.
This is an opportunity for students to collaborate, innovate, and compete on a regional stage — gaining confidence, exposure, and hands-on experience in robotics and STEM.
The Robotics Championship Experience in Colombo
The ICDL Asia Robotics Championship 2026 will take place at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo, Sri Lanka, with the main competition held on 11 July 2026 (Saturday), followed by official programme and activities on 12 July 2026 (Sunday). Beyond the arena challenge, teams will present their projects to judges, demonstrating their design thinking, coding logic, and problem-solving approach while gaining valuable regional exposure.
As part of the championship journey, participants will complete the ICDL Robotics module and earn an internationally recognised ICDL eCertificate upon passing the certification test. Winners in each category will receive trophies and regional recognition, and award-winning teams will be invited to participate in the ICDL Asia Digital Literacy Day 2026, further extending their learning experience and regional engagement.
