Bangkok, Thailand, May 2026 — Praram 9 Hospital, one of Thailand’s leading private healthcare institutions, is advancing organisation-wide workforce development through the implementation of ICDL international digital skills assessment and certification standards.
Implemented through the Digital Skills Health Check for Organizations programme and supported by ICDL Thailand, the initiative reflects the growing importance of structured digital competency development within the healthcare sector as organisations continue to strengthen workforce readiness and support digital transformation. Approximately 1,500 staff members across clinical, administrative, and operational functions are participating in the assessment, enabling the hospital to develop a structured, measurable, and data-driven understanding of workforce digital competencies.
As healthcare institutions continue to integrate digital technologies into daily operations, digital competencies are becoming increasingly important across healthcare environments. By adopting ICDL as an internationally recognised framework for digital skills assessment and certification, Praram 9 Hospital is taking a systematic approach towards workforce capability development while supporting higher standards of operational efficiency, digital readiness, and service excellence.
The assessment focuses on practical workplace digital competencies, including computer and online essentials, office productivity applications, spreadsheets, presentations, digital communication, and the effective use of technology in daily work. These competencies are aligned with the ICDL Digital Workforce Essentials framework, supporting employees across various job functions in developing workplace-ready digital capabilities.
Following the assessment, employees will receive individual digital competency reports, while the hospital will obtain organisation-wide workforce insights to support more effective workforce planning and capability development. This data-driven approach enables organisations to align training investments with actual competency needs, improve workforce readiness, and support measurable development outcomes.
The initiative also aligns with broader workforce development efforts in collaboration with the Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (TPQI), supporting the development of recognised and standardised workforce competencies within Thailand’s evolving digital economy.
Praram 9 Hospital’s adoption of ICDL highlights the growing importance of internationally benchmarked digital skills frameworks in supporting workforce transformation across the healthcare sector. By integrating structured digital competency assessment into workforce development strategies, organisations are better positioned to strengthen operational efficiency, support digital transformation, and build future-ready talent equipped for an increasingly technology-driven environment.
ICDL Asia will continue to support organisations in strengthening digital competencies and advancing workforce development initiatives, contributing to the growth of digitally skilled and globally competitive talent across the region.
