279 vocational colleges in China to begin ICDL programmes in September 2019


National Centre for Educational Technology (NCET) under the Ministry of Education in China has confirmed the first batch of colleges to begin the ICDL certification programme in September. This announcement was made on 20th June 2019, preceding the grand official launch in April this year.

From more than 300 vocational colleges that have applied, only 279 colleges have been selected to officially offer ICDL certification programmes to its staff and students. The shortlisted colleges will start to teach the ICDL certification programmes when the next academic year commence and therefore, teachers will undergo training during the summer holiday from the first week of July.

Each school will send 3 teachers to learn 8 ICDL modules in total, including all ICDL Advanced Word Processing, Advanced Spreadsheets, Advanced Presentation, 3D Design, IT Security, Project Planning, Digital Marketing, and ICT in Education. These training will be conducted in batches across 6 NCET provincial offices.
