Witnessing the success of the “Upskilling Future Workforce for the Digital Economy” Project in 2021, National Centre of Educational Technology China (NCET) has selected 50 new vocational schools from Hubei Province, Guangdong Province, Ningxia Province, etc. to kickstart the second phase of this project.
This project is expected to upskill 100 teachers and over 2000 students in China in 2022.
In order to bridge the wide gap between the digital skills of the Chinese workforce and the ever-growing demand of the workplace, Dell Technologies and China Education Development Foundation (CEDF) launched this CSR project jointly in 2022. It was implemented by National Centre for Educational Technology (NCET) and supported by ICDL team in China.
In just the first year of implementation, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, this project has benefitted over 2500 students and 100 teachers from 50 vocational schools who have completed ICDL training and certification. Separately, over 400 supply chain workers have successfully completed the ICDL training and certification as well.
In addition, over 6000 employees from supply chain factories and 1000 vocational school students have completed ICDL short video courses targeted at equipping them with essential digital skills.
At ICDL Asia, we value the ongoing partnership with NCET, CEDF and Dell Technologies as we collaborate to upskill and uplift digital competencies of more vocational students, teachers, and supply chain workers in China, and we are committed to enabling better employability of Chinese workforce in the new year.
