Welcome to the ICDL Asia Digital Literacy Day 2022!

ICDL Asia Digital Literacy Day 2022 is a regional event conducted annually to promote the importance of digital literacy. It also serves as a platform for academic leaders, industry experts and training providers to share key industry trends and best practices of digital skills and digital learning in Asia.

Themed “Accelerating Digital Literacy in Asia”, we have invited Dr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), Vietnam and Mr. Seán Farrell, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Ireland, Vietnam to join our event.

We will also be joined by industry experts, civil servants, academic leaders and training providers from Australia, Bhutan, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

Invited key partners will include Alibaba Cloud, Skillsfuture Singapore, Siemens PLM, Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore), Institute of Technical Education (Singapore), Universiti of Malaya (Malaysia), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM Malaysia), National Economics University (Vietnam), Mahidol University (Thailand), to name a few. The CEO of ICDL Foundation, and distinguished guests from Enterprise Ireland will also be attending the event.

We will also take the opportunity to announce the winners of our 2022 ICDL Asia Digital Challenge.

Mr. Seán Farrell is currently the Deputy Head of Mission for the Embassy of Ireland in Hanoi covering Vietnam, Lao PDR and Cambodia. Seán joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 2021. Prior to this, Seán has over 25 years experience managing development and humanitarian programmes in a number of countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Mr. Damien O’Sullivan joined the ICDL Foundation as Chief Executive Officer in June 2006.  With a background in education and training, he has been involved with ICDL programmes since its launch in Ireland in 1997, working on a range of projects to develop and deliver ICDL training and certification to the public and private sector. Prior to joining ICDL Foundation, Damien worked for ICS Skills, the National Operator for ICDL in Ireland. Damien is a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society.

Ms. Tina Wu is General Manager of ICDL Asia, the wholly owned subsidiary of ICDL Foundation managing ICDL Programme in all the Asia Pacific territories. She has been working with ICDL Asia since 2006, started as Business Development Executive and then Partner Relations Manager and then being promoted to General Manager in 2014. Prior to joining ICDL Asia, Tina has been working with MediaCorp News as a news reporter and INSEAD Business School as a research analyst in the InnovAsia Centre. She graduated from National University of Singapore with Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours). She is Singaporean, born in China, and perfectly bilingual with English and Mandarin.
