Growing demand for ICDL 3D Design in Malaysia

With an increasing demand for 3D modelling and printing, we are glad to partner with IEG Campus to pilot theICDL Professional 3D Design modulein Malaysia. IEG Campus is the first ICDL accredited test centre focused on the 3D Design module in Malaysia.

This module covers the main concepts and skills needed to create three-dimensional drawings using computer-aided design (CAD). After completing this module, candidates will be confident to create, edit, and output a three-dimensional design or drawing.

The programme offered is sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource under the PENJANA-PERKESO initiative. This is part of the Ministry’s initiative to reskill the Malaysian workforce to soften the economic blow of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pilot programme has attracted 19 working professionals to attend and upskill their 3D design skills. Lessons were conducted at the IEG Campus during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and under strict compliance with the safety measures in Malaysia.

As more industries integrate 3D technology into their product design and development, we see a growing demand for working professionals to be equipped with 3D design skills.

At ICDL Asia, we are confident that the ICDL 3D Design module will benefit students, designers, engineers, architects, technical staff, and people who want build on their design skills and explore the potential of 3D modelling.
