
Vietnam, July 20, 2023 – Hung Hau Education joined hands with ICDL to establish a strategic partnership and formalise a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the realm of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The signing ceremony, which took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam brought together distinguished figures from both entities. Representing Hung Hau Education were individuals including Ms. Le Thị Thuy Phuong, the CEO of Hung Hau Education, and other esteemed members of the management team. On the ICDL side, the delegation was led by Mr. Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of the ICDL Foundation, Ms. Tina Wu, General Manager of ICDL Asia, Ms. Dao Mai Ann, CEO of ICDL Vietnam, and Mr. Nguyen Anh Trung, General Director of VMB.

ICDL is a globally recognised certification program for digital competence standards. The certification is acknowledged in more than 100 countries and territories, making it the most widely used certification in the world. Available in localised 41 languages with over 24,000 testing centers, ICDL has awarded certificates to over 17 million individuals. In Vietnam, ICDL certification holds a strong reputation for aligning with the Ministry of Information and Communication’s (MIC) stipulated ICT skill requirements.
Ms. Le Thị Thuy Phuong of Hung Hau Education expressed her enthusiasm for this collaboration, underlining its potential to elevate the quality of human resource training in the ICT domain. Ms. Phuong emphasised that the partnership would provide learners at Hung Hau Education with access to modern and advanced IT training programs on a global scale.
Mr. Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of the ICDL Foundation, also emphasised the importance of developing information technology skills for the community, especially for students. He highlighted that ICDL would play a significant role in establishing and implementing an international quality IT standard, contributing to Vietnam’s robust development in the digital era.

In Asia, ICDL has collaborated with many governmental agencies, businesses, and universities in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China, South Korea, and Vietnam.” stated Ms. Tina Wu, General Manager of ICDL Asia. She also extended her invitation to attendees to visit the ICDL Asia Digital Literacy Day in Singapore in September.

The cooperative agreement between Hung Hau Education and ICDL entails collaborative efforts in its training implementation, exam standardisation, and certification issuance according to ICDL international standards. Additionally, selected modules from ICDL training curriculum will also be seamlessly integrated into the ICT syllabus of Hung Hau Education’s member schools, fostering alignment with global standards and enriching computer training programs.
This groundbreaking partnership marks a significant step in nurturing digital literacy and preparing students with the essential skills and knowledge for the demands of the digital age. Through this collaboration, both Hung Hau Education and ICDL are ready to empower and equip learners in Vietnam with the skills and competencies needed to thrive in the dynamic ICT landscape.
