Although the COVID-19 epidemic has affected the academic plan of many schools around the world in the first half of 2020, ICDL programme is still achieving major breakthroughs and recognitions in Taiwan.
National Penghu University of Science and Technology (NPU) Taiwan officially recognised and implemented ICDL programme in May 2020.
NPU is a public university located on Penghu Island. All freshmen students of the university will take four ICDL modules from May 2020, including Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation and Computing. The initial batch of 1,000 students has started their ICDL journey in June 2020.

This is a new milestone for ICDL in Taiwan, a highly competitive market. With the implementation of ICDL, the students are looking forward to digital skills programmes covering new technology areas, such as Computing, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing.
ICDL programmes covering new technology trends attracts students from Tamkang University Taiwan as well.

Tamkang University (TKU) is a private comprehensive university, serving nearly 30,000 students. It is one of the best universities in Taiwan and one of the top 50 universities in Asia. It is recognised as Taiwan’s oldest private institution of higher learning.
Despite the pandemic, more than 100 students have already taken Data Analytics training and certification tests in May 2020, and Digital Marketing in June 2020.
