ICDL Thailand signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Office of Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) of the Ministry of Education Thailand on 4th June 2020.
In line with Thailand’s National Development Strategy 4.0, this collaboration aims to prepare the workforce for the digital age. OVEC and ICDL Thailand will jointly equip administrators, teachers, students and educational personnel with internationally recognised digital skills at the national level.


The MoU was signed by Mr. Nataphol Teepsuwan, Minister of Education and Dr. Hugh O’ Connell, Managing Director ICDL Thailand. The signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Mr. Joseph Anthony Cotter, Ambassador of Ireland in Thailand and Mr. Narong Paewpolsong, Secretary General of OVEC.
Mr. Nataphol Teepsuwan, Minister of Education, stated that technological advancements had penetrated all areas of life today. Employers are expecting employees to be equipped with skills to work and grow in a digital society. Digital skills have also become an essential part of education. Today, many students have access to technology and can access information from all around the world. The Ministry of Education is responsible to prepare students for the digital world.

Mr. Narong Paewpolsong, Secretary General of OVEC, stated that the collaboration will help graduates to be efficient in digital technology and will improve teachers and educators’ digital competency level.
