ICDL Vietnam Signed Strategic Partnership MoU with Phenikaa University


On April 14, 2023, ICDL Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership with Phenikaa University in Hanoi, Vietnam. The partnership aims to enhance the quality of ICT skills training and provide university students with the opportunity to conveniently obtain international certifications on campus. 

The signing ceremony was held at Phenikaa University campus and was attended by representatives including Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Huy, Principal of Phenikaa University, and Ms. Dao Mai Anh, CEO of ICDL Vietnam, who signed the agreement.  

 Among the witness also see representatives including Mr. Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ICDL Foundation, Ms. Tina Wu, General Manager of ICDL Asia, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dinh, Acting Head of External Cooperation Department of Phenikaa University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Hong Son, Dean of Faculty of Information Technology of Phenikaa University, and Dr. Dang Thi Huong Thao, Director of Phenikaa Center for Foreign Languages, Informatics and Skills of Phenikaa University. 

During the ceremony, ICDL and Phenikaa University representatives actively exchanged and reached many significant agreements that are strategic for bilateral development in the coming period. Through this partnership, both parties will work on specific training arrangements for short-term and long-term programmes. Additionally, ICDL Vietnam and Phenikaa University will continue to collaborate on research, implementation of enrollment, training, and organisation of ICDL certification tests for students in the university. Both parties will also work together on communication activities to promote ICDL certification programmes to students across all courses. 

In Vietnam, ICDL has been highly regarded as an international certification programme that aligns with Vietnam’s criteria for assessing ICT skills. The Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam has evaluated and recognised ICDL certification as equivalent to the content required in the modules specified in Circular No. 03/2014/TT-BTTTT dated March 11, 2014 of the Ministry of Information and Communications. 

Phenikaa University is committed to providing students with the skills needed to thrive in the digital economy, and the partnership with ICDL Asia will play a critical role in achieving this goal.
