MoU signed between ICDL Asia, ACCA AND Kaplan to provide ICT certification programmes for accounting and finance professionals


SINGAPORE, March 15, 2018

ICDL Asia, ACCA and Kaplan Learning Institute signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide a series of ICDL’s globally-accredited ICT certification programmes to fulfil the digital competencies of accounting and finance professionals.

The MoU ceremony was graced by the Guest-of-Honour, Minister John Paul Phelan, Irish Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, H.E. Ambassador Geoffrey Keating, Irish Ambassador to Singapore and Smruti Inamdar, ASEAN Director of Enterprise Ireland.

The international recognised ACCA-ICDL certified ICT programmes will see technical syllabus as the core of the courses, which are made relevant for the professionals in accountancy and finance.

Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ICDL Asia said that, “The accountants and finance professionals are at the forefront of digital transformation and is embracing new developments in the area of artificial intelligence and data analytics.

Working in partnership with ACCA gives us valuable insight into a fast changing work environment and with the support of Kaplan we can ensure the best solution is provided.”

The ICDL syllabus covered carries the main concepts underlying the secure use of ICT in daily life and to use relevant techniques and application to maintain a secure network connection, use the internet safely and securely, and manage data and information appropriately.

The following 4 ICDL modules selected are:

(1) Advanced Presentation

(2) Advanced Spreadsheets

(3) IT Security

(4) Online Collaboration

This project will kick off from Singapore and be introduced to other ACCA territories in Asia.
