284 students from four vocational schools have completed ICDL certification tests in China between 18th June to 6th July 2020. This is the first group of schools that have resumed ICDL training and certification exams post COVID-19. The four schools are Zhengzhou Financial School, Nanjing Medical Vocational School, Suqian Zeda Vocational School and Dafeng Vocational School. These schools are based in Henan and Jiangsu province, respectively.
The average passing rate is 97%, including two schools achieving 100% passing rate.

Suqian Zeda Vocational School began implementing ICDL in early 2020 and conducted its first test session on 6th July 2020. Prior to the certification test, the students took a 2-month online training session during the school’s lockdown period. With the resumption of normal school activities recently, the students took part in a 2-day face to face centralised training session from 4-5th July conducted by the teachers. During the centralised training, students prepared for the certification test by attempting the diagnostic tests, which gave them a feel of the actual test environment. The certification test session was completed successfully, and all 21 students passed the certification tests.

Suqian Zeda Vocational School recogonises the importance of international certification and confirmed that ICDL is well-recognised internationally and beneficial for students to improve employability. The school will continue promoting ICDL certification programme to its students with the hope to generate a skilled and highly qualified workforce, and also be aligned with the new reformation policy of Chinese vocational education.
