On the morning of 24th June 2018, a dissemination of information and communication technology workshop was co-organised by Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) and ICDL Vietnam at Ho Chi Minh City. The workshop is chaired by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen – Deputy Director of Information Technology Department with participants from members and staffs from other MIC consultative boards, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) as well as various educational institutions.
The focus for the workshop is on disseminating Circular 44 which was released in 2017 by the MIC regarding accreditation of IT certificates used in Vietnam issued by foreign organisations.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen states that over the last few years, Vietnam government has always been interested in the development of ICT area, especially in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. To promote and develop ICT effectively, human resource plays a key role in research, development, and application of products and services to facilitate government management as well as socio-economic activities. Hence, human resources development needs to be constantly placed as one of the top priorities for improvement of training quality, efficiency and attaining international standards.
Mr. Pham Hoang Cuong – director of ICDL Vietnam presented and introduced ICDL programmes and adaptation worldwide. Over 20 years of development, ICDL is now used in over 100 countries around the world, available in over 40 languages and more than 15 million users. A lot of reputable organisations use ICDL as one of their criterion in the recruitment process and training such as World Bank, UNESCO, WTO, ACCA, Emirates Airlines, Mercedes-Benz, SPAR, Toyota etc
ICDL Vietnam is undergoing application process with the Vietnamese government and is confident for ICDL to be fully recognised since Circular 44 has come into effect.
