
Tianjin, China — October 24, 2023 — In an exciting development for digital education, Wellington College International Tianjin has taken the pioneering step to become the city’s first Accredited Test Centre (ATC) of ICDL. This partnership enables the school to offer ICDL program to its Senior School pupils, benefiting over 40 students who are set to participate in the ICDL Digital Student program in the initial phase of implementation.
ICDL, the globally recognised digital skills certification, has made significant strides in promoting digital literacy and competency development, and this collaboration is set to further these goals in the city of Tianjin, China. Throughout the academic year, each participating student will complete a comprehensive set of three ICDL modules, equipping them with essential digital skills.
Gregor Markovic, the Director of Educational Technology at Wellington College International Tianjin, expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating, “We are pleased to introduce the ICDL program to our Senior School pupils, alongside other digital courses at each phase of our school. Notably, Wellington College International Tianjin holds the distinction of being the first international Microsoft Showcase School in China. This recognition highlights the institution’s innovative use of 21st-century digital tools in education, further highlighting the significance of this collaboration with ICDL.
