
The Workforce Development Agency (WDA) under the Ministry of Labour, Taiwan organised the 2022 Gender Power in Online Marketing International Programme from 31 August 2022 to 6 September 2022 at the National Taipei University of Technology.
The opening ceremony was held on 31 August 2022 and presided by Mr. Tsai Mengliang, Director General of the Workforce Development Agency. It was attended by Mr. Pu Tongxian, Chairman of APEC Human Resources Development Working Group (HRDWG), Ms. Renee Graham, Chairman of APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy (PPWE), and Mr. Wu Jianwen, Director Secretary of National Taipei University of Technology, among other distinguished guests.
This programme aims to support young professionals in the Digital Marketing field to obtain professional certifications, which improves their employability in the international workforce.
WDA has selected the ICDL Digital Marketing module part of its certification programme.
The ICDL Digital Marketing module covers the main concepts and skills of digital marketing, such as creating a web presence, optimising content for search engines, using social media platforms, selling online, different types of advertising, as well as monitoring and improving campaigns using analytics.
10 Taiwanese trainees and 15 international trainees from Belize, Honduras, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Saint Vincent, etc. participated in this programme and are certified in ICDL Digital Marketing module.
Upon completing the programme, these ICDL certified trainees will be able to define different elements of digital marketing, understand what goes into a campaign, and identify the typical goals used. They will also feel confident carrying out digital marketing tasks effectively and efficiently.


Through this partnership with ICDL, Taipei University of Technology and Computer Skills Foundation, WDA aims to promote a greater cooperation between the public and private sector. It aims to foster stronger ties between the industry, government and university, while improving the overall effectiveness and professionalism of training programmes.
