ICDL Endorsed by National Centre for Educational Technology (NCET)
ICDL is endorsed by National Centre for Educational Technology (NCET, an agency under Chinese Ministry of Education) as the primary solution for vocational colleges implementing the new vocational education reform policy. To enhance the employability of vocational students, Chinese vocational colleges offer ICDL digital skills certification programs to both educators and students, equipping them with globally recognized digital proficiency standards.
The ongoing initiative involving ICDL, NCET, CEDF, and Dell Technologies in the “Upskilling Future Workforce for The Digital Economy” project aims to enhance the digital skills of vocational school students and the existing workforce in China. The program’s modular design, practical hands-on approach, and rigorous assessment and certification processes have gained popularity since its inception in 2021.
ICDL Popular Among Vocational Colleges and International Schools
ICDL digital skills certification program has been implemented across vocational colleges and international schools in China, emerging as a crucial digital literacy tool within the country’s innovative approaches for cultivating information technology skills among vocational students. The strong collaborative efforts between educational institutions mark a pivotal moment in integrating international standards into digital education. While fostering excellence in education, this has also established China as a frontrunner in digital transformation by cultivating a skilled workforce well-equipped with digital skills to navigate the challenges of digital era.
ICDL is implemented in mainland China through ICDL China, which supports the NCET project across over 300 vocational colleges and a network of international schools. Additionally, ICDL Asia directly manages several test centers in China, including those in Hong Kong and Macau.
